Intelligent Design intro

21 Sep 2006Hey all!
I wanted to show my intro movie and see what yaw'lls think.
There are still things that bug me about it, but all in all, I am quite pleased with the result.
Apps used: Photoshop, 3Ds Max, apple's imovie.
I took stock photos from online, stuck 'em toghether, put out two different layers into Max, one a backplate with the moon, one with the trees sihlouette, and then an intermediate layer mapped with the Max smoke procedural. The planes have a bend mod applied and they wrap around the camera a bit, then I just animated the camera, and supplemented the motion with hand drawn, and computer simplified curves, rendered out, added some effects, and sound effects and VIOLA! or however you spell that.
BTW, Inspiration for this came from Tyson's animation with the dude, and the hat.

21 Sep 2006wow, man, really cool! very moody and dark, great sound, awesome camera work! did you animate the basic move and then throw some noise controllers on the camera, or how did you do it?
great work! and great use of Max's smoke map! -
21 Sep 2006works realyl well, BUTTTTT the ground texture needs some dispalcement or bump added to it, u can clearly see u used a ripple space modifier for it.
