basically exaggerate the most obvious features. like if they have a big nose, make the nose huge, etc. eyes, ears, make them look like the person but just bigger in some places.

whooa dude u and ridestowe look kinda similar LOL, i thought you had edited his face onto yours or somthing.
Nice drawing i would recommend looking at the subway scetch groups on cgtalk they have some awsome examples of charicture type scetches!!!

I use to do caricature for newspapers 15 years ago (oh no one more white hair just appeared)
Best advice if you do it from a photo is to use an half profile cause a face photo won't show you the features you need to exagerate and a profile won't show you the shape of the face and you need to get that first, so start with the primary shape of head and go from there, focus on each part of the face like nose, eye shape, lips, forehead etc. and find the one that stick out the most and exagerate that one the most then the others, the best is when someone as something big and something small.
Its all I can think about, I use to hate to do that but I needed to pay the bills, the worst that happen is to have the caricature a gorgeous babe, nothing was wrong the face was so perfect.
