25 Oct 2005As I was at home recently I decided to get a copy of one of my favourite paintings. It's scanned from an old photo so the apologies for the poor quality... anyhoo, I painted it on my bedroom wall way back, around the time Cobain died (1994 for all those youngsters out there
)
Acrylic on plaster (ooh, does that make it a fresco?) approx 1.5m x 1m
He's still there (but as my sister moved into the room he now has a pinky/lavender border all the way round... yuk!) -

It's been such a long time since it was painted that it's weird (but very cool) to get such a reaction.

28 Oct 2005oh ok i didnt know it was from a famous painting im not a real fan of kurt i jut know a lot of people who like him for some odd reason. nice work none the less.

28 Oct 2005[Frank] - I used a B+W photo, not painting, of Cobain as reference (it was on a front cover of a magazine). The photo was quite a popular one at the time though, so many people will recognise the pose.
Oh and as for not liking him... *SLAP!!*... hehe
[cargo] - Wallpaper? No problem (though it's a fairly lo res scan of the image)
[Tyson] - LOL! Well it's a scan of photo, sure... but the photo is of the painting on my wall (I didn't try holding my scanner against the wall though - too late now!
)
[Todd] - Yep, it was a very sad day. I was in the 6th form at the time (not sure how that translates to non UK education systems... 18 years old) We were all quite devastated (especially those that had concert tickets - they were due to play Wembley a few weeks after this happened
