30 Jan 2011been checking out chaos group's Phoenix fluid dynamics system recently, thought I'd share some results mainly with the liquids portion of the plugin

Phoenix FD does fluid dynamics too?? Did not know that...How do you like it so far? How does it compare with Realflow?
Oh, and is that cube thing in you first test build in feature of Phoenix or did you do that with scripting or some other plugins? -
31 Jan 2011the cube thing was one of the smoothing methods and i thought it looked neat
no scripting required. and yeah, phoenix added liquids in its newest update, still a little bit of a novelty. i wouldn't compare it to realflow just yet because of the lack of options associated with the liquids. -
31 Jan 2011Oh, I see...It would be kind of nice to have a solution for all the rigid body/fluid/gaseous dynamics in one complete package sometime in the future
That cube stuff looks neat indeed, you should do more... -
31 Jan 2011it does seem like chaos group are onto something here. would love to be able to sim an icecube melting into water, then dissipating into gas all in one sim. not much longer now! can do the water dissipating into gas already
