Meaning
What will you be looking for? Try looking for history behind this image, is there a story to be told? Does it contain emotional images or is it a simple snap shot, you decide you vote.

Composition
Look for the focal point, is the image layed out nicely, do they stick to the rule of thirds / halves / central / own creation.

Quality
In this you will be looking at the overall appearence of the image, look for careless things like dirt on the print, finger prints (maybe a finger), anything else. But also look at the contrast of the image (tone) is it oversaturated or maybe under? You decide.

Presentation
Checkout the colours used, maybe black and white? Is everything set out nicely with a perfect border or can you see a carless crop. Checkout were your eye goes, is it contained within the image or does it wander off with no focal point.

Why you chose this shot - I feel this is were life started somthing in my area, once hatched from this egg and started a life of its own.

Damn it was hard to pick just one. Was tossing up between the flower, pelican, + 3 ocean shots.

I think I got it though, this is my fav.

Why you chose this shot - To me it has the most feeling and was the most unique, most artistic and most eyecatching of the ones I submitted.

Location - Malibu Creek State Park
Why you chose this shot - i just think it's the most interesting of the ones i presented for this challenge. It's the one I could look at the longest and keep finding interesting things to see.

Dang! I was gonna go out this weekend and just go nuts taking photos - oh well, gutted i didnt have anymore choice of pictures. Anywho - this is the one i choose;

Why you chose this shot - I like the mood in this photograph, it definatly portrays the vibe I always get when I go to the pub - very chilled out. It's also my first time playing about with the appeture settings.

Aden
Meaning = 7 (There could definately be some meaning behind this image, I wouldn't have thought so until I saw your description though.)
Composition = 5 (I am more drawn towards the sexy dried up mud ground than to the actual egg, and having half the egg out of focus almost adds to it, but the actual bit of egg in focus is really small compared to the rest of the picture you know?)
Quality = 10 (Great quality, I took off a few points for the careless things, like that abundance of dirt. )
Presentation = 8 (cool)

Hype
Meaning = 6 (I can think of a lot of meanings for this!)
Composition = 4 (Tis nice overall but not too keen on the main focal thing (for me it was the fence) being cut off on the left, other than that its cool)
Quality = 8 (Nice)
Presentation = 8

Iest_rob
Meaning = 7 (Who doesnt love their local pub eh?)
Composition = 7 ( I like it but at that size the focal point is too far away for me to really see any detail on it. But tis very cool)
Quality = 8 (Top qualiteh)
Presentation = 8 (Nicely done!)

Cameron
Meaning = 5 (was unsure wether this could have meaning or couldnt, to me every image has meaning but i cant tell if the purpose of the shot was to show meaning)
Composition = 10 (Really loving the composition of this piece its superb!)
Quality = 8 (I gave it a 8 because the whole feel looks to fake, but then again its an awsome exposure and the quality is awsome. The depth of field is just amazing)
Presentation = 6 (Not a huge fan of black borders i think the ruin pictures, very few it works with.)

Hype
Meaning = 9 (I think when you saw this object in the water lots of things hit your head, how could this be here?, definately lots of ideas)
Composition = 4 (same as cammy almost, making this piece central rather than loosing the left hand corner spoils it)
Quality = 6 (Would of been alot better if a polarizer was used to reduce the glare on the water. If you cant afford a polarizer, sunglasses in front of the lens work perfect)
Presentation = 6 (I like the black border in this image but the almost square presentation isnt doing it for me)

Iest_rob
Meaning = 9 (Superb! Alot of history in this place and capturing it at nightime really makes it feel like its back in the day, ya know )
Composition = 8 (Almost high ranks but the top of the castle really put me off, creating a bit of negative space above it would of worked perfect, diggin the reflection tho!)
Quality = 6 (Some areas just look to soft for me)
Presentation = 7 (The landscape shot rocks, but making the panaramic that little bit longer would of looked awsome)

Cam
Meaning = 9 (well,this could mean many things... to me it kinda feels like a sense of adventure, like there's something exciting and new coming.)
Composition = 9 (almost perfect. the only reason i didn't give it a 10 is cuz the horizon line is almost in the center of the vertical height of the pic. but then you'd have lost some of that cool water, so i'm torn...)
Quality = 10 (i just can't see how it could be better quality.)
Presentation = 8 (i like it alot. i'm okay with the black border, as i think a white one wouldn't compliment the warm tones as well. i'd love to see this 4 feet long hanging on the wall behind my couch!)

Aden
Meaning = 8 (almost the complete opposite of Cam's. All the possibilities have come to an end, there is no future)
Composition = 10 (nailed it. not much more to say on that!)
Quality = 9 (everything looks great, DOF, tiny bursts of color in an otherwise drab palette... i only wonder if it might've worked better as a B&W)
Presentation = 9 (again, almost perfect. white border perfectly compliments the pic, the long vertical display really draws attention to the DOF and the lonliness of the shattered egg)

Iestyn Roberts
Meaning = 10 (strange to me that i give you the highest rating in this category, but as i thought about it, this place actually means something to you - hanging with friends, relaxing in a perfect environment... so i gave high points.)
Composition = 7 (it bothers me that the top of the castle is trimmed off, i feel like there should be a little open space there.)
Quality = 8 (i generally like the quality. the colors are spectaular, and the reflections are amazing. and all that color with the contrasting deep blue sky - great work!)
Presentation = 8 (pretty good. maybe a bit more height would've worked well for it.)

Meaning = 8 - Definatly a strong meaning behind the image
Composition = 7 - The DOF is pretty neat, although i wished the whole egg was in focus
Quality = 9 - Great quality
Presentation = 9 - good job

Meaning = 9 - I agree with what Hype had to say - there's definatly an awsome sense of adventure, and curiousness about 'whats out there'. That cargoship also really adds to it. Great pic Cam.
Composition = 9 - The DOF on this is great, the fact that you've got the wave bang on in focus, and as meantioned before, it's almost like a minature
Quality = 10 - Sweet - nothing to say.
Presentation = 10 - Awsome colours, the sky is just brillaint, and the nice contrast between the sea.

Hype -
Meaning = 7 - I agree with what Aden has to say
Composition = 6 - Yeah, would have been nicer if you'd managed to get the left corner in.
Quality = 8 - cool
Presentation = 8 - nice one

Cam
Meaning = 8 its dreamy i like dreamy!
Composition = 8 i like the horizon being in the center but id prefer if the waves were going inwards, not outwards the frame if you know what i mean... id preferto see a bit more of whats on the right
Quality = 10 nothing to say about it.. its very good, post production added a hell lot! congrats
Presentation = 8 i like that black frame

Composition = 7 that tree on the right add a LOT but i think we should be able to see a bit more of the sky, as youve cut the picture right on top of the tower

Composition = 5 theres something disturbing about this composition, cant really spot what it is.. maybe the fact that the egg is not really centered but near enough to make us think it should be in the center.. if the photo was shot closer to the egg in a more oblique way, maybe it could have give a more dramatic look

Meaning = 6 i wonder how come people throw garbage in a park! maybe it wasnt thrown but whatever

Guys... Sorry I've not had much time to keep abreast of what's been going on here (calm down Cam... I said 'abreast' ) But it all looks fantastic! Hopefully get a chance on the weekend to have a look at all the wips and stuff.

meaning = 7 (I think the title gives it away though!... )
comp = 9 (Fantastic... great DoF and that wave is crystal... the one thing that trobles me is that it then blurs between the waze and the clear bg)
quality = 9 (I see no finger prints or the dangly camera strap thing)
Presentation = 8 (needs more jam)

meaning = 7 (Nice - though has a bit of a postcard feeling to it)
comp = 7 (ditto the comment about the top of the castle)
quality = 8 (No fluffy things... good)
Presentation = 8 (Where's the Parsley?)

meaning = 8 (I like it... kinda sad... a statment of society today)
comp = 8 (Just a bit too much of the gate and not enough reflection)
