That is definetly working for the position constraint, however the lookat is not catching. What version of MAX are you using? I started to write this in v.9 at school, but i am at work now and the lookat constraint isn't working in V.8
Eitherway, I hope I can figure out the version issues, if there are any. -
30 May 2007odd, I'm on 9 too. I just did a test in 8 and you are right. I'll have a closer look at it.
edit:
ok, because you had the code split up in 2 parts it couldn't find controlPoint thats why it failed. So I just made it one block of code and 8 took it fine. -

I'd also suggest creating some kind of helper at the base of the bone, and setting that as the upnode for the look at controllers, so that your bone doesn't flip out (no pun intended) when rotated at certain angles

Really great stuff bro!
I tried both scripts now and they worked a treat.
The one thing I'd say for the piston script (which I imagine will come in very handy in the future btw), is to allow the 2 objects to maintain their initial orientation (or maybe allow the user to choose a look-at axis?) -

It does put the constraint in a rotation list, so i guess one could always jump back in the list.
Do you think a popup or message box would be good for that the offset details, or to have some checkboxes in the base script? -
