Ok, gang, since I can't seem to stop myself from making these dang tutorials, here's another one, requested by Quinn.
This one, obviously, deals with split screening - being able to have multiple copies of yourself in the same footage. These are some pretty basic examples, but I think you'll get the foundation of it, if you want to try something harder. Also, I couldn't provide the source footage I shot, since it's my friend's kids. But you'll have more fun shooting footage of yourself anyway!
Also, they're compressed as EXE files again, but will NOT install anything on your computer, they just have their own built in extractor.

I also make a reference to Effstops (Colin) and his great example of it posted on his page, which you can find here (the "cloning" example):

It's really cool to see all these effects that you can do via compositing! Now I find myself constantly trying to break down the effects that I see in movies... heh...
Thanks Hype!

Downloading right now, and this should be really helpful, because I'm about to start filming with my friend for his film and hes going to be in the same scene, maybe 2 or 3 of him at once
Hypes God. A god that films little girls. But a god none-the-less.

if anyone wants some exercise with this technique, theres a small competition with some footage available for download over at vfxtalk.com It's actually pretty good, because the footage needs to be warped a bit to fit together, and you even have a little greenscreen stuff in there too.

Hahah that pic rocks! I think you may have left Global out though
As for your video tutorial...I watched it and thought it was great! Nothing new for me, but it was a reaffirmation of some techniques. I especially like the way you had both characters interact with the same object. That's something that can really sell the effect.
Great job, and thanks again for contributing to simplycg's growing resource collection

Thanks Hype... and you didn't have any problems with changing perspective? I looked at the footage and it looks like they just rotated the camera on a tripod. I would have thought that if you tried to stick those two pieces of footage together (computer + sofa), that the result wouldn't look like one photo because of the rotated perspective.
Kind of like how people stitch photos for quicktime VR movies... it has the perspective and it lines up the pictures well, but something always feels "off". Your comp doesn't have that feeling... it looks like it's all one shot.

Hey guys I have a quick question, ive masked out all my shots and Im PRETTY happy. Just need to know how to change verts to curves as all my masks are hard cornered edges. So i just need to know how to change a corner point ect to a curved mask fo chest ect. THanks
Forget this after searching around for 15 min I found out how

hype 2,964 posts
i know you found out how, but if anyone else is wondering, if you're on a PC, select the mask points you want to change, hold down Alt & CTRL, and the cursor should change into a little almost-upside-down "V". click on one of the vertices. all the selected ones should change.

I did mine by going to the masking tool icon at the top toolbar and holding down the mouse on the mask tool icon. It opens up a lil "list" of mask tool types and you can select the "V" there. Though Hypes ways alil faster

Well gotta say guys HYPE is amazing. I especially found his Split screen tutorials best as when I did his film styles tut I didnt know how to do some things. I find if you do the Split screen tutorial first everything else was a breeze afterwards. Ohh and yeah Rotoscoping is sooooo boring, I deffinatly agree. Thanks so much dude I have AE now to the point where I feel alot more comfortable at taking shots at my own ideas without tutorials. Youve been a HUGE help. Thanks so much.
My shots I did through your tuts will be up on my site in the next few days. I am pretty happy with my SINCITY Style. Though my AE shots didnt have much time spent on them and the camera quality is crap im still kinda happy with em
At least I got the basics down I guess. Just need to put in the time now.

Was it like shooting 15 fps? lol
I never thought of using my digital camera for video, its like uber low res I think.. plus I only have a 32 mb card, and they don't sell the card for my camera anymore (I'm never buying Olympus again) So I need a new camera so I can take my photography seriously..
