Hi there,
I know most of you guys are using max, but I've been studying XSI for a while, and there are some techniques I could share. Don't know if it's going be useful for someone, but if so let me know and I'll come up with something interesting for a tutorial.
For a first try, I thought about point cache for sharing animation data between 3ds max and xsi. Since xsi is a great package for animation and max is great for rendering, it's a powerful and simple technique to get good render on good animation, and also to speed up things in the viewport.
Currently, Blur Studio is using this kind of data sharing on their pipeline.
suggestions on other topics will be welcome...
(unfortunately, my videos will have no audio as far as I am brazilian, and my english conversation is not that good yet! =))
In the meantime I'll keep studying max and xsi... -

Good to see you signed up for an account!
Personally, I would be curious to see a regular animation workflow....just the UI side of it, show in a video.
Ie....how to set keys, how to view trajectories, how to use the graph editor, how to setup IK etc etc.
I'm sure all of those things are documented in the help files...but I wouldn't mind seeing them actually put into practice in a practical setting. -

30 Nov 2006Hey yeah that'd be real handy. I remember checking out XSI a while back but like with most new 3d programs I had no idea where things were and how things worked. Would be great to see!

30 Nov 2006Doing anything in any program is useful, i've learned from Max tutorials, and I use Maya.

here's my small contribution to the community:

Just take this as a very basic tutorial, just showing XSI interface and some animation commands... it doesn't have any audio, but most of the things are explained through text (boring premiere editing part
).
I also had some nightmare time with the capturing, as far as my pc is not that powerful, but well, it's a start.
