QUICK HURRY YOU DON'T HAVE MUCH TIME! :O

25 Sep 2006Ok guys....I've got about 4 hours free this evening and I'd like to make a video tutorial!
...Something covering either particles, or dynamics or scripting or something (preferably not animation since those take much more time).
Is there any kind of effect or technique you guys would like a tutorial on?
Make your suggestions here and I'll be deciding in about half an hour! -

25 Sep 2006I should also note that this doesn't have to be on something I've already done. Ie, maybe come up with something new you'd like to see and I'll try and do a little R&D for it
Also, specific requests are more helpful than vague ones. Defining a specific effect you'd like to see for example, is much better than saying "particles!" or "cloth!" or something -

here's what i can think of right off the bat. I may add more if i think of them.
1 - setting up that bird wing on your sparrow.
2 - anything involving reactor or particles. I'm thinking mainly of that flapping sign in your John Deere ad, and the crash of the helicopter in the freeze thing. your earth particles are pretty much explained in your teapot tutorial.
3 - in your Nike spot, something (can't remember what) gets crushed into a ball. i always wondered how that was done, but maybe it doesn't deserve its own tutorial.
4 - and my dream come true Tyson tutorial - tracking in Max. Hard tracking, long panning shots.
i'm sure i'll think of more in a minute... -
25 Sep 2006Hmm well I don't have any footage handy for a tracking tut.....and jerk_boy doing a tutorial on that shot (even though a lot of people have requested it) would take too long for this evening.....but I like your ideas hype about the bird wing or some kind of reactor crash.......more ideas are welcome though! I'll give it about 10 more minutes before I start

25 Sep 2006the reactor crash you covered with the tut you made about your car crash. I'm trying really hard to think of something you haven't even touched on yet in your other tutorials.
things transforming has always seemed to be a things of yours (sony, the fly & spider, the pod falling back to earth). maybe something like that? hmmm..

25 Sep 2006me too - i tried using it in my earth challenge, but it wouldn't work, so i just uv mapped it, but really screwed with the mapping gizmo.
hmmm.. dammit! time is running out! -

25 Sep 2006Hahah it's almost done.....I'm rendering the final scene for the tutorial right now
My comp kept crashing while recording the video though.....so before I post it I've gotta edit it a bit and fix the areas where there gaps.
It'll be up in a bit though! -
25 Sep 2006K...it's all done, and it's an hour and a half long of goodness....but it's going to take over an hour to export (had to edit it in a few places where max computer crashed during the recording)....so I'll try to get it up tommorow morning.
