I'm entering the challenge and i'm also posting here for the first time. I've been visiting this site for awhile now and i feel it's time for me to show something of my own too. So greetings to everybody
The original file has larger screen size ( 960*540) but it's also a lot bigger ( 596 mb
) and i don't know where to upload it.
I hope you like my entry -

My only concern is that the shot-break is a bit jarring....anyways you could condense it into one shot? It seems like the second shot is the same as the first (just with the camera a bit further)...so that shouldn't be too much trouble, right? -

04 Aug 2008Yeah I could condense that to just one shot but I'm afraid that because of the big scale you wont be able to tell that the big object casting a shadow on the earth is a big red ball since it's so big. Then again if I move the camera backwards a bit so the whole ball is seen I think you wont be able to make out that satellite
Any suggestions? -

Then maybe in shot1, just try to make the ball on the left a little more visibly red? Right now it's really dark. That way, in shot2, it won't seem like the ball just appears in the middle of the screen (on first viewing, I didn't even notice the ball in shot1...just saw the shadow).

I just hope that my entry isn't ruining the tempo of the final video because of that shot break

You have a cool idea there. If you want you could try to put these two shots into one. Leave everything same but instead of breaking from one shot to another you could try making quick zoom out. That way this all would be only one shot and audience would still understand what is going on. I am not 100% sure how good it would look but i suggest you to try it out and then decide yourself which version is better.

Huh, I have never thought of doing it that way and I think that would actually work better. I will definitely try that today as soon as I find some time
Edit: I have just tried that quick zoom out thing but it's just not working as I have hoped it would so I'm going to stick with my last update and call it final. Thanks for that suggestion though Gotmilk! -
