what ever you do, i would apreciate if you give time for it, as i will be in the states and that i will not return before the 5th or the 15th...
i'd personaly prefer an animation challenge... that being said, maybe a given voice clip, but please not with 3 characters, it makes it too challenging and it might make people not want to participate... so maybe an animation exercise, or a voice clip would be my vote... then again, that is going on every month on 11 second club, so it could be an acting challenge, or somthing like that...

i'm going to the states for holidays and the open day of animation mentor, to ask questions, as i might enroll... so it has nothing to do with siggraph... i'll be going there next year though....

I agree that a more "simple" challenge would encourage participation. Not that it has to be a bouncing ball or something that easy, but with summer here and Siggraph around the corner you're probably looking at a lot of people with limited time. Just a thought.
As far as topics...
Maybe something sports related? A character interacting with a ball of some sort.
Maybe a creature challenge? Quadruped stuff, who knows.

We did a challenge a long time ago on another forum where we had a topic like "a ball enters screen left, and a character interacts with it, sending it out screen right" and then we stitched all the entries together and formed a little "hot potatoe" type video, where it looks like a ball is passed around a group of characters.
Would anyone be up for that type of thing? It would be short, have a set theme (passing ball from screen left to screen right) and only involve one character.

sounds like a very fun challenge, but why limit it to 1 character, wouldn´t it be more fun
visually and callenge wise that each one uses a diffrent character, either his own or can be
a characater like lowmax or generi or so, just to spice things up? even maybe approch 2d entries?
could be very rich visually and fun!
