as for filling your background, if you plan on doing one, don't loose yourself in too much detail, you might get anoyed with it and give up on it.. you could try to fake depth of field an have a blury background, done with the side of your pencil, to get a softer line...
anyhow, congrats again, and keep it up, i'll be watching this one! -
