I love to see your work. Some ugly looking model in one shot and some awsome stuff in next shot

T this better look as good at your monument shot. are they part of a series? i noticed the same rickety building-style in this one as well as the monument.

hmm, it seems like the legs should be built5 into the house a bit more, right now they kinda feel tacked-on

Are those cannons on top? You should have some dirty laundry hanging from the cables attached to the legs.
And I know it's supposed to look rickety and like it's about to fall apart at any moment, but I'm just not buying that the whole thing is supported by one or two little pieces of wood on each leg. Maybe if there were more horizontal pieces tacked on for more support? I dunno.
Nevertheless, flipping sweet!

only way i'd believe it as it is, is if it started to fall apart when it walked sorta like at the end of howl's moving castle.

ha ha, that's fun man, just out of curiosity, did you place all those slats by hand or do you have some fancy little max script to array those planks and then noise them out a bit??

Thanks guys
Clay: good point bro, I'll add some more support to the legs
Ben: Hmm...I'll see what I can do
Zach: Nah I hand placed everything, then once the basic model was done I added a noise modifier on top of everything to shake it up a bit

Holy .....
Waiting for your final result Mr. T
EDIT: Btw did you notice that you created this thread in less than 24 hours and you already have some footage to show. You work fast

nah T's been done with project for months. now he's just putting the files up one by one to make it look like he's lightning fast ;D just kidding.

AHNIMAYSHUN PROWGRASS...still lots to do....
Also, I've got the matte object for the mountain terrain below the house setup, but I hid it in this playblast so the ground in the video could be seen.
Also also, disregard the dudes standing on the mountain that are clearly visible
...they'll be painted out.
Also also also, I just realized I forgot to unhide the left wall

Thats looking great! Only thing I have to say really is that I think it would be nice if the house kinda bent if you know what I mean to show how old it is, because at the moment the house itself looks quite solid, but other than that it looks great

There's something wrong with you Tyson, seriously...
Anyways, the two...back feet (farthest screen left on each side) seem to be sliding a bit, mostly around the middle of the animation.
I can't even begin to wonder what the third in the series is going to be...
-
ivanisavich 4,196 posts
Yep...hehe good eye Clay, the back foot slips--but that's on purpose. It'll make more sense once I add in the extra snow that I'm planning on throwing in there (essentially, the snow patch that the back leg is standing on breaks away and the leg slides)
rrateme: yep...definitely going to add more bending and such too
