Been waiting for this rose to open in just the right way for this shot.
Today was perfect weather, such an awsome day. This rose sits just outside my front door and is the only one on the whole bush. Really lit the garden up this morning.

Also masked off some darkening too.
Dont usally edit this heavy but decided a change since i been stuck inside with my crappy chicken pox

if you follow the stem downwards, though, there's a little brown spot, looks like where a branch might have been trimmed off or something. That's kinda distracting.
But, great shot nonetheless! -
09 Aug 2007Yea i just noticed that, thought it was an artifact i left behind from lame editing but its actually in the original photo and on the plant i think its a new leaf or bud comming out.
I honestly dont know how it stayed in focus that well lol. -

I think for the top part of the rose that second one is way better, but I really like the rest of the photo in the top one, just the actual flower bit doesnt fit it I dont thinking. Would like to see a whole flower in the style of the bottom 3/4 of that top one. -

10 Aug 2007I still think that the first post has the best composition, I think if you pushed the color a bit, and made it punch a bit more, and just paint out that stem piece, where there's a bud or whatever, you'd have a great shot. Just my two cents. And the whole editing thing is encouraged. Straight captures are boring most of the time.
