Anybody know what software Pixar uses for its pre-viz animatics? Is that just Adobe Illustrator?

my guess would be After Effects as the main tool, but probably whatever they use for 3d as well.

Im not sure on what they use for pre-viz but for 3D they use a software called marionette which you cant buy

I'd have to guess it's proprietary stuff.

some one go into pixar and copy the software and run off to dream works and make them amazing, i think dream works has a lot of potential i like their stories.
