after effect question

i used an mp3 in my demo reel but after effects renders the sound really bad not in quality but its like all parts of the music playing at the same time and the mp3 file is 320 kb i tried all sorts of outputs but no use any ideas

After Effects generally doesn't like mp3s. Actually...on my computer whenever I import them AE just crashes.
Convert your mp3 file to a 16 bit 44.1 khz WAV file and it should work fine

and if you don't have a program to convert it, i think Audacity will, and audacity is free!

I personally added sound via Quicktime for my demo reel.

yeah, you have to RAM preview. also, open up the time control window and make sure audio is turned on.

oops i forgot also check the audio layer if the speaker icon is there on the left side of it
