After Film Tools

13 Jun 2009What do you guys use for filmFX in After. By film effects i mean DOF, Glare, Flare, CC, Aberation and those stuff. Do you use plugins or the ones included in AE?
T what do you use? You are still compositing in AE right? -

But there are some others that I use a lot, and those are RSMB, Knoll Light Factory, and Frishluft plugs. -

For CC, AE built in stuff is fine. Alot of People use Magic Bullet stuff, which is fine, but if you know how to use the built in tools, there's not really a need to spend the extra money. And alot of people don't think AE comes with a traditional 3 way CC tool, but indeed it does. Synthetic Aperture's Color Finesse, which ships with AE, has a standard 3 way color corrector. It also has TONS more, if you delve into it. -

hype, what do you mean by "traditional 3 way CC tool"? I am not familiar with that term. Do you mean like hue&saturation has 3 (hue, saturation, lightness) or RGB, HSV and something third or something else? -

That is the Colorista one. 3 way CC is the way most professional grading (color correcting) suites work. Color Finesse has something similar, and should be installed with your AE.
