mahmoudnahmad 1,159 posts28 Feb 2008Hey guys WOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOO me is back Finally (work load soz) i bought this JVC GZ-HD7 a lot of problemsssssssssssss needing help specially for the pros such as HYPE yo man how is it hanging
i am into video editing now ^_^ since my job requires it and i find my self going into it deeper daily so i thought about buying something good the best i can get in saudia arabia (current work location) is this cam and the problems are endless
1-TOD no perfect method still trying to figure out the vlc method with mpeg steam thingy
2-weird edges look:
sucks big time and thats raw tod (dunno if its really raw its a mpeg2 container from what i understand) GUY HELP i tried all the options in the cam no solution
if there isnt one hardware speaking is there any filter or something i can buy to remove this (and please tell me the name of this problem so i can research more on the net) -
28 Feb 2008that's called INTERLACING, and it's pretty easily removable in most editing and compositing programs. Check the help files and search "interlacing" or "removing interlacing".

by the way AFTER EFFECTS KICKS monkey AZZ i love it been using it since i started my new job 6 months ago and refuse to use any other video editing i just love this piece of cheese cake (lots of plugins and addons cant keepup xD) they keep telling me go flash i am like NOO its after effects and only AE the thing is they dont know what they are talking about they want me to do video editing through ulead and flash and ... OI OI BOSS LISTEN BUDDY i know my job go sit back were u always sit and watch some porn on your huge aZZ plasma screen in ur office ^_^

Pierre 61 posts28 Feb 2008I think the JVC GZ-HD7 is a very nice HD cam: high end consumer. The features seem to be fine.
Your cam is a 3CCD, and so will capture in 'interlaced' mode (1 image=2 frames) opposed to the progressive deinterlaced scan mode.
For your image quality, I do agree with Hype: deinterlace.
But it depends what your final product is for: if it's for viewing on computerscreens (web...): always deinterlace. If your end project is for TV or videoprojection, leave the interlacing.

28 Feb 2008man, that looks like a GREAT camera! HD, it shoots just about a 2K frame! That's awesome! Does it shoot PROGRESSIVE frames? That would turn off the interlacing inside the camera, but deinterlacing isn't really to big a deal.
I don't know what a TOD is, we don't have that format here. MOV we have, of course. There are a bunch of programs you could use to convert the footage. One thing is SUPER. It's pretty good, I hear. I tend to use Nero, but that's only cuz I have it installed, not cuz it's the best.

And if you're EDITING video, After Effects (while an awesome program, and my favorite in the world) might not be your best solution. For EDITING, you'd want something like Premiere Pro or Final Cut or Avid, Vegas, or whatever. After Effects won't play back things in real time for you (you have to RAM preview first). Real editing programs will play real time with no problem. -

mahmoudnahmad 1,159 posts28 Feb 2008any idea about HD converting softwares, i tried several converting softwares non support over the dvd quality range and from what i know if you wanna do effects the higher the quality the better.
