23 Apr 2007Just thought I'd throw these out there, in case you haven't seen them.
A couple little clips of AE in full-on, kick butt action, doing things most people have no idea it can even do.
This first one is the big Adobe presentation at NAB 2007.
Stu Maschwitz talks and demos an INCREDIBLE, full 3d animatic, that he created entirely in AE, 3d models, dynamic rigging, and all! Amazing!!

This other one has been floating around a while, but I'm just throwing it in here in case you haven't seen it. It AE being used at ILM to do some sweet 3D compositing on "Van Helsing".

23 Apr 2007Actually, the expressions he was using are simple enough, some noise, and some parenting, and a multiply-type thing, but to be genious enough to think of it...... Yikes!!!!

08 May 2007more cool examples of AE CS3's new vanishing point features in conjunction with the new Photoshop. Can't wait to get these new versions! (i'm waiting for the full releases, no beta's for me)
there's also a great little tutorial of the auto-trace feature directly after the vanishing point stuff.
ever wanted to make rotos directly from an image with an alpha channel? auto-trace is for you!

10 Jul 2007I've been addicted to Andrew's tutorials - I've sat and watched them all! I also bought the Riot Gear DVD, cos it was only ?25 and there's a ton of cool textures and other things I'll use in both my corporate and personal films.
3D and projection is soooo easy in AE (even more so in CS3 by the look of it, with Vanishing Point). I'm evaluating Nuke at the moment too, and 3D in that (in fact, almost anything) is somewhat of a pain. I know it's a hugely powerful compositing app, but it sure ain't anywhere near as fun as AE!
