Hi, I've been trying to figure out how people make those crazy concept images on photoshop and stuff and how they get them so crazy smooth. I've tried my hand at a few, but my mouse is dumb and I can't quite get them to look right.

Not exactly sure what you mean, those look pretty sweet to me. But I'd suggest getting a wacom tablet if you're having trouble drawing with a mouse.

Yeah man, I seondthat, if you're doing some drawings in PS I highly advidse getting a tablet for that. As far as technique, its a combo of brushes, masking, and nd flat out brush settings, as well as different types of post processing, like dodging and burning, blurring, smearing, smudging, and all that. butjust for clarity's sake, can you post a reference or two to what exactly your'e talking about?

I think you answered my questions. I was just using the same brush at the same setting but with different opacities for the whole deal. I'll try out those new tips. Thanks

Yep i'd second zach's secondings and also second his advice.
Cool pictures though, and nice concepts!

It might be a little late, but this is an amazing tutorial on some painting techniques you may find handy.

there are some animations of the process on the second page which are worth looking at.
