Fur before rig?

As I may have mentioned, I'm making a cat rig for a uni project. I'm almost through the modelling stage now, just some more tweaks. Do I texture + apply fur before I start rigging or after? What pitfalls should I look out for (like fur being left beihin etc.) Just general tips and advice would be great thaks

14 Nov 2008i'd suggest rigging before applying fur.

Claymation 600 posts14 Nov 2008I would do it before rigging. I would unwrap uv's first, then texture. Then delete all the history on the geoemetry so it's clean, apply the fur and get that working, making sure the uv's are satisfactory, and deleting any history again. Then rigging. That way you won't have any unwanted texturing/uv'ing history on your mesh that you can't delete without deleting any rigging deformers. -

16 Nov 2008I agree, texture before rigging. At lease have the UVs unwrapped because any corrective blendshapes you might decide to use will need the same UV information.
