20 Feb 2010Here is a new little script from me
Are you ever tired of maya crashing and loosing about an hour worth of work because you forgot to save?
Well this scrip is for you, every 15 minutes (you can change that, but it's 15 min by default), it'll pop up in your viewport's bottom right corner, to remind you to save.
you will have three option available:
- save!
- save as!
- later! telling the buttons to come back later
It is discreet enough to not disturb you while you work.
And of course, feedback is greatly appreciated, and if you have any bugs while using it, let me know!

and yea I changed it to every 10 minutes cuz Maya scares me like that

22 Feb 2010well it depends on the need,
I created the cam shake cause you asked about it,
then I created this one a day later, cause Maya crashed on me and I lost an hour of work...
So I have no idea of what's next...
as a side project, i'm working on an autorig. but it'll take a little more time to finish.
but thx man! it's awesome to see that you used them, that they work on a different computer, and that you seem to like them! -

i have it on 8 minutes for 20 versions.
it can get annoying on heavy scenes but well...
safety first -
22 Feb 2010I thought about an autosave,
but i had problems with those, it would save when I'm doing something important and sometimes because of a heavy scene, saving takes for ever. it could even make maya crash at times. Besides, theses tools already exists.
This one, gently pops up and asks you what to do, which I find is a lot less aggressive... -
22 Feb 2010I agree with Richard...all we really need is a reminder every now and then but we still want control over whether we want to save or not.
