Vent and TS both run a heavy server load on top of Vent costing money. You can have group conversations in Skype, and in StickAM you can use webcams as well. -
mahmoudnahmad 1,159 posts04 Aug 2008i think they don't take that much i use to use them a lot in my heavy gaming days, but what i fear is if i created a teamspeak server for yea all the noobs may annoy the pros and end up a big failure its hard to manage those things so that no one gets offended or over asked that's my main concern. -
04 Aug 2008They are definitely heavy server eaters. Even a smaller server with minimal people. I know from experience that running a TS server blows and is far from worth it when you can just hop in Skype or StickAM for free.

Gotmilk 228 posts04 Aug 2008But what happened to that chatroom feature we had earlier. A nice way to leave messages and talk to each other. Could we have that back??? I am afraid that if we put teamspeak server (or any other voice chat thingy) then people who has serious work to do would not join anyway because they cannot talk and work at the same time. So that means only us so called n00bs would be on TM server.
If we had that chat back then we would have all the time needed to ask and answer questions.
The other reason why i personally prefer chat over voice is because my english is bad

...it was fun because the messages didn't disappear, so you could "chat" with people who typed their message days ago (I guess in that sense, it wasn't much different from the rest of the forum).
Not sure what Cam did with it though...if it was just deactivated or actually deleted... -
05 Aug 2008You're gonna have the same problem in a chatroom. =)
If someone is busy they won't be hanging out in a chat doing how to's.
One cool thing we did at school was we had weekly "dailies" in stickAM for critiques.
