ALi 608 posts09 Mar 2011Just wanted to say. I was thinking about 2006 and 2007. It was pretty cool. Forums were so active and challenges were so great. O come on! who put that stuff in the grave yard!?
By the way, hope you all guys are doing fine. and don't laugh at me, but I miss you all.
I wish we could make simplycg shine glorious again!

09 Mar 2011you weren't really around either the last couple month
well i guess everybody did "grow up" a bit. when i was at school i could post 5 projects a week i was trying to do. But nowadays i work on 3 projects a year but they are huge. Most of the time i cant even post about my problems because mostly i had to reveal what it was and i cant since i have signed an NDA and im sure a lot of people are in the same dilemma.
The other aspect im sure is the exponential social thing that :
the more people there are, the more people come. You can see this when you play games online(Like battlefield). When you join a server that is full people just drop in and out like crazy. The moment someone exits another joins. But if for some reason if 6-7 people exit the game nobody comes for a couple of minutes, even more people leave. And within 15 minutes its just 5 guys in a 32 player server. Then everybody exits. I have no idea what this is called. But im sure if 10 people would make 1 post a day. Then even more people would come and answer and it would start a roll. People that are passive active (just watching) would join in again. -

I was working full time for the last two years and many times it was more than 15-16 hours a day. But.. you know it was more exciting, more interesting.. maybe good old memories.
and yes. You're right. The more people get active to more will join them. May be I should try to be more active, too.
By the way, if I'm not mistaken you are from Turkey. Yes? Still living there? How the CG life is going? -

04 Apr 2011That's a great comparison Diemacht... been a long time since I played online, but yeah the same phenomena happens in forums. There is also the rising trends of social networking, facebook and twitter that compete for people's online time. For me it's generally that I'm working a heck of a lot and just need to switch off when I get home (or spend time with Mrs. Global)
... but it's nice to drop by once in a while
