I assume you're speaking of the economy? luckily one of the last things to go in a recession is entertainment

I don't think that the impact will be very big, at least in the advertising industry. Just from watching t.v. lately, it seems like all commercials are spazing it up with some cg to try to attract more people.

It will and it wont. I don't think that the entertainment industry has really felt the crunch that much, Places like Sony, and many other studios, in my opinion, are using the recession as a convenient excuse to usher out the older employees who have higher paygrades and make room for newer people who are motivated to work for less. I could be wrong, because the Orphanage in San Francisco closed their doors recently, flooding the vfx job market with roughly a couple hundred people. That being said, I'm still getting calls, and haven't really been pressured to take less money any more than usual. So I think any press you hear stating otherwise is sensationalistic garbage. It's never nice and never fun for anyone when companies restructure, or make cutbacks, and to be one of those people down on their luck has to be no fun and scary. But the VFX industry is at worst, apparently still recession proof.
