Well, about, 300 on the first day, then 1500 on the second. so that's actually 1800 frames
About the job itself, well it's for a cartoon TV series about a caricature of our french president talking to himself in front of the bathroom mirror in the morning or evening and analyzing how his day/week went. It's a lot of fun working on it!
A new episode comes out every week, and so every week we have a little less than 2 minutes to animate in a day (yes that's a long day!). the funny thing is, we're only two animators, and the other guy just takes care of the facial animation. So I'm animating the character from the belt up for 2000 frames in a day. O_o
It sounded impossible to me, but i had my first day yesterday and animated 1500 frames in about 16 hours. It was really hard long and challenging day, but so much fun at the same time! It also felt really rewarding when we saw the finished product and realizing what i just had accomplished.
I also animated 300 frames the day before that to train myself on motion builder (that's the software they use, and i never used it before, so I had to learn and quick!). good thing it's only once a week, because i could not animate that everyday as i already feel like a vegetable after one day.
It was really hard coming up and trying to get all the poses in place, figure out timing, yet still try to apply all the animation principles at the same time. But wow! What a learning experience!
It wont be online before next week though. I'll make sure to post a link when it will though.
only flaw i really saw was when his hand passes by the sink, the shadows are quite grainy. but other than that it looks great, especially for the deadline you had dont know how you did that animation so well so quickly, but it shows
Yea ben working on that was crazy! and i am so proud for compleeting it, no mater what the outcome would have been.
I ended up animating just the body, an other animator worked on the facial. Even so, this prodiction was crazy! i'm not sure i want to do that again. but a line on the resume saying:
"Animated 2000 frames in 18hours from the belt up"
