I'm making this the official "post ideas you have for short films, animations, effect shots, etc etc" thread.
Ever have a cool idea that relates to film, animation, concept creation etc? Post it here! Or if you've found a resource for such things, post the link
Hopefully....this thread will eventually be a good place to grab inspiration from when you're dealing with a creativity block
By the way.....I just want to re-iterate that this thread is meant for anything when it comes to ideas and concepts.......from a cool character concept you've thought of to a feature film plot

I've always wanted to do the following.
1. Two 3d characters fighting it out with either swords, poles or shotputs.
2. Man being attacked by octopus... Wham in his face.
3. Photoreal shot of a tree being chopped down and falling over.
4. Decomposing character - Timelapse
5. Slow-mo shot of character being hit by truck. Smashing his face on windscreen, shattered glass, broken bones e.t.c
6. Chipmunk Wizard fighting it out with a smurf (with magic).
7. Tidal wave
8. Avalanche
9. A fish eating a worm, a slightly bigger fish eating fish, even bigger fish eating slightly bigger fish, shark eating even bigger fish.
10. Cheerleader pillow fight.

Idea i came up with today:
Cars driving along all strapped with nuclear bombs on the top (strapped on with ropes) Then one car which is driving without a bomb. And the anouncer talks about a teen driving course which is reliable and fast. I think this would sell...

i had an idea for a challenge ...not exactly a minichallenge but a full contest.
its called "senile criminals" ...if you think about it long enough ull see it can go into a lot of interesting directions . i originaly thought of the idea for a still but animation would be awesome.

Thought of this today.
Seen alot of transforming cars recently and a photocopier, so why not somthing new?.
How about a short video of you comming to work, opening the door, waving to the receptionist as you enter the building. You sit down at your desk and check the paperwork, sigh then proceed to turn on your computer. As you do the monitor fails to turn on, you keep banging the power on button but nothing happens, then all of a sudden the screen pops out about half an inch then the sides pop out the same distance and fold into each other. The whole monitor then transforms into a little dude who says to you "Hey how about you sit back today over there *points to sofa* and ill do your work today" (at this time in the short you face is in astonishment and you dont know what to do) the monitor pushes you aside and proceeds to get on with the paper work, the animation then fades out showing your face in astonishment.
Bang ? <----- :O!!!!!

I had this idea the other day for a character animation short.
It would basicly be a botched mugging at an ATM.
Would start with a single character getting money at an ATM, and then another character would come up to him and attempt to rob the first one. He would not succeed however, as a series of unfortunate events would occur.
Example: As soon as he jumps out, he drops his gun, as he picks it up, his mask falls off, after putting it back on, a cop walks by, etc etc.

I just had a cool weird idea.
You have some weird ugly deformed chick. (No offence to the weird ugly deformed chick of simplycg: ridestowe) she has like a heaps long face, one small eye one big eye, short mullet hair, short neck, massive bodybuilder chest and such, short thing, small hips e.t.c... And there she is posing in front of a circus style wavey distortey mirror... You get to see her reflection and damn does she look hot!

I thought of this one when I was playing with my rubik's cube.
There seems to be more and more cars that take certain things from other cars, such as a sports car/suv/van combination vehicle. So what you could do is model each vehicle and break it up into sections and each part will be different type of car. So the front left could be a sports car front end and the back right could be like an SUV. Then the sections would start spinning then stop and it will be a different combination. Once again it will go again, then after that the end result would be the new car. So its kind of like solving a car rubik's cube.

This is a cool thread :] Something I just thought of:
-Imagine a . Now, waterdrops would fall down on the instrument and they would act like the mallets; when they hit the bars the notes would play. Much like really.
Or I could have a character play the vibes.
The idea is to have someone play the vibes live together with the video. We've been doing a similar thing for almost two years now with our little band. We played "Pipe dream" and "Aqua Harp" from the first Animusic DVD last year, and it was a great succes.
What I'd love to do is to make a stylized version of my teacher & have it play the vibes, my teacher playing the live thing next/under the screen. I think that'd be pretty funny :]
Maybe as my summer project ...

Hey everyone
I had an idea (which im planning to do next year if I get any better at animation :S) thats basically to do with a boy who has a nightmare, wakes up.... and finds nothing. He's about to go back to sleep when suddenley all the things from his nightmares like monsters, e.c.t. come to lifeand then it kinda tells itself after that.
Oh and just wanted to say.... these are some awesome ideas people

Great thread.
I've always have lack of expirience in character animation, and somehow I am always afraid to start, and the problem with my ideas is that always require some complex cloth, eyes, animation stuff...
Here is one idea that was on my mind several years a go when I was starting working in max (but I still don't have a skill to bring it out):
No Title Yet:
A wizards eye... a fire reflection in the eye... cammera slowly doll backward and we see a sad wizard face. Another shot shows that wizzard is in the forest (it's night) and he is sitting near the camp fire (that was in the reflectin in the eye), and there is an old cottage also, several feets from him. A very dark and misterious atmosphere, dark music that is also increasing atmosphere. The wizard is standing up slowly (like an old man, as he is), he get his stuff and he comes closer to the cottage. With stuff he opens the door that have creaking sound... he enters the cottage (which is lighted by a several candles) and slowly sit down. His magic stuf start to glow... glow some more... camera starts to shake because of glowing... in a second everything becomes white... BAM...
In the darkest corner of the room, a TV was turned on, and we see a wizard waching a foodball game.
