How to have 2 lowmax rigs in the same scene
-

I'm making this thread because I've been asked this question two million and twelve times
....so from now on I'm just going to link people here 
To have 2 lowmax rigs in the same scene do this:
-Unfreeze/unhide EVERY part of the lowmax rig
-Select EVERY part of the lowmax rig, including the viewport sliders (the UI)
-Shift+Drag the rig (ie...copy it in the viewport)
-Once it's copied...DON'T TOUCH ANY OF THE CONTROLS YET OR YOU'LL BREAK STUFF!!!!
-Select the HEAD object of the duplicated lowmax rig
-Run this script:
http://www.tysonibele.com/Main/lowMaxCopy.ms
Tada...now it will work like a charm.
Please note...this only works for a second rig. If you want a third rig in your scene, run this script instead:
http://www.tysonibele.com/Main/lowMaxCopy_char2.ms
However, if you want a fourth rig in your scene, you're outta luck -

18 Mar 2007This is one reason to like Maya... referencing duplicate objects and rigs is very simple. I do recall something about 'character' setup in Max. Would that make things easier?

by any chance can this script also work for custom bones with a mesh that has morphers on it? Doubt it, but worth asking. -
29 May 2007You mean like a completely custom rig? You shouldn't need any script to have more than 1 in a file, if so
