this is a test render for a little animation exercise, made in XSI.
I'm trying to move it to max and render in vray.
Still missing some particles on bomb explosion. Think i will try to do it on pflow.
comments are welcome!
one question: is it possible to import .fraw2 data to 3dmax curve editor ? I tried to export the whole scene straight from xsi, but there's a lot of bugs and 3dmax crashed everytime on importing.
I finally got all the mesh and mesh animation working, by exporting point cache data from xsi to max, but the problem is the camera animation. I cannot use point cache on non-mesh objects.
any suggestions ??

flyingfenix, the pictures on bg are meant to be ads, but instead of classic famous brands, I decided to put posters of some mates' short films. I'm coursing a CG school in Brazil.
i'll keep posting my progress... -

Also...when it comes to exporting pos/rot/scale animation keyframes, try the fbx file format. It works wonder between max and maya...so I'm assuming there's gotta be a version of it for XSI. -

TheOnlyAaron 188 posts10 Dec 2006if filmbox dosen't work well for importing the camera a workaround could be parenting a box or some geometry to the camera in XSI, and then exporting that as a point cash. Then you can import that geometry into max, and parent your camera to that to retain the animation maybe.
Not really what you were looking for i guess, but i might be a fix for the moment. -
