Kitchen Interior WIP

Postby ivanisavich on Mon Jul 24, 2006 9:05 pm

Hey people!

Just working on a kitchen interior for a short animation over the next couple days and thought I'd post my progress.

Raw render so far (just the table etc.....no backdrop yet):

Hey Tyson! here are the Photoshop brushes for you to love and have and pet and you can call them George.

Cool, I just scored myself a set of George.

What's this?
A Table by tyson?
A WIP thread by tyson?
VRAY by tyson?
George by zach?

On a more appropriate note, it looks great so far.

The crumbs all over are great, makes me feel like someone has been eating a messy heck load of cake (in which case I'd be expecting a big bite out of that slice to show their enthusiasm)

The thing that confuses me a wee bit is the abundance of knives & forks, yet also chopsticks.
Which makes me confused again trying to figure out how people eat cake's or butter toast with chopsticks.
:scared: I'm confused and upset.

wow, now i really like the exterior modeling...

wierd, tyson i dreamed that i was going to a cg meeting such as siggraph, and in the train on my way there, i met you and mark behm. we spent the journey together and we to a pub when we got in town, then i forgot, all i remember is saying goodbuy and good luck for the lecture you where going to give. i also remember the town getting destroyed by big alien spaceships...

ps: did you modeled the napkins or you do them with dynamics, aslo if you look at the forks, the one bellow the pile of plates looks like it has the same orientation as the one on the plates... also, how about the cake material, is that procedural or is that just a texture?

is that the pudding cam proposes everytime we get a new user here?

Nice one Tyson - I really like the crumbs dotted about the place, really nice touch. Great texturing work on the cups too- they look great. Looking forward seeing what's gonna happen here.

Update!

The characters are in their default poses and are currently just placeholders.

Yep :)

We're making a bunch of short films here using the same characters, and this is the 1st one.

There are five characters in total...these 2 guys.....2 others I posted in a test animation a while back...and one other I haven't posted yet :)

Ooooo... short films! like, for entry into animation festivals?

or maybe as spec commercials?
(can't be for a specific client or you probably wouldn't be allowed to post anything)

is the cake icing squishing out from between the layers of cake, or is that just my imagination?
amazing!

hmmm... will you be voicing these guys?

Alrighty.....now that the interior is finished....I started texturing the actual characters (there are 5 or 6 in total...I forget....oh wait......6).

Here are the first 2 with textures that I've done:

Btw......yes, the "texturing" is meant to be really subtle......just more or less to give them extra shading....plus the addition of little warts/bumps/moles in a few places.

i don't know, Cam. it looks to me like someone ELSE ate the cake, and these guys showed up a little too late, and now they're about to get into it over the last piece.
