I'm just about to animate a character who is meant to have handcuffs, and I just don't have a clue as to what's the best method to set up the character so that I can have a fairly decent amount of control in the arms/hands, but at the same time make the chain inbetween follow/stretch/deform accordingly.

My initial idea was to basically forget about the handcuffs and go for the animation...and then once the animation was done, add the handcuffs with the chain as a stretchy chain setup?? Or perhaps use a dynamic hair curve to drive the chain, however I don't know how to do this at all, plus I need to make sure it collides with the table, and it stays attached to both arms, etc...
Hope anyone can give me a hand asap?? anyone has animated a character with handcuffs before????
