ok, so here is my first one...
i have a black and white image and i would like to use it to have 2 differant procedural noise maps (one in the black and an other one in the white chanel)
and obviously, i have no idea of how to do this in maya... any help?
Am I right in interpreting that you want to pipe two different noise maps (generated from, say 2 different noise2D nodes) into the same image, where one affects the black channel, and the other the white?
It's quite simple:
- Go to the Effects part of your file node and click on the Color Remap Insert button. This will create and attach a remap ramp to your image, probably turning it red and blue (the default colours).
- In the remap ramp, delete the middle colour (green) and set the Interpolation to None
- Select the top colour of the remap ramp and middle mouse drag the first noise node over the Selected Color attribute
- Repeat for the bottom colour of the remap ramp with the second noise node
P.S. Here's a screengrab of the Hypershade network of what I just described.
You would then use the output of the Remap Ramp like you would your normal file.
thank you! i realy apreciate your help, and it's not the first time too...
